Over the past week or more Israel entered the Gaza ( Palestine) to put an end to the almost daily rocket and mortar attacks on Israeli cities and towns. In addition, rockets were fired from Lebanon and Jordan landing in Israel. The world has reacted negatively to Israel because she decided to enter Gaza (Palestine) and stop Hamas from launching rockets and firing mortars. Demonstrations are becoming everyday occurrences in Europe. Israel may have the upper hand militarily but the Palestinians have capitalized on the public perception of Israel as being the aggressor. The same was true in the 2006 Lebanon War or the Second Lebanon war. The world is screaming for a cease fire between Hamas and Israel. Even though the Israelis are being pressured to accept a peace mandate from the world community, the end of hostilities will not end the bloodshed. There is one under lying fact which is guiding this conflict. Simply put, the Palestinians, both Hamas and Fatah, Iran,Syria and other silent Arab States want all the land now colonized and inhabited by Israel or should I say "the Jews". The world community is so hungry for peace, it is willingly or in a few cases unwillingly forgotten or down-played the reason Israel exists. In one human life span, the collective emotional memory of the slaughter of over six million people seventy-nine years ago has dulled. The modern Nation of Israel came into being because the world did not want the remaining Jews of Europe. The governments of Europe and the West knew of the starvation, humiliation, torture, rape and murder of the Jews. They did nothing. The collective nations ( the League Of Nations) finally took action against Nazi Germany. But not to save the Jews, but rather out of self interest. They did not want to be slaves to Hitler's Germany. The modern Nation of Israel also came into being because Jews felt powerless to control their own destiny. After World War II the Jews of Palestine were treated by Arabs as invaders. The world community went along with the Arabs and turned a "blind eye' on what the Arabs did. Yes, they knew the claims of the Jews to the Land of Palestine was valid, however these modern industrialize nations needed Arab oil to survive. In 2009, the situation has not changed.
The Jews of Israel refuse to hide and be intimidated any longer by anti-Semitic Palestinians or other Arab proxies. Iran, Syria and other Arabs are supporting the Palestinians. They are providing weapons, training and financial support to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. In addition, Hezubllah in Lebanon is still a serious threat to Israel. It is often said, "history repeats itself..." In the near future there will be another war. The seeds of it has already been sown. The truce being forced on Israel today is a mistake. It will provide the Palestinians and other Arab proxies time to build their war machine. This machine will be better armed, better trained in military tactics and will have no need to resort to guerilla assaults on Israelis. If Israel does not have the right to defend herself against those who attacked her, when does she have the right? Should Israel be made to wait until her enemies grow so strong she cannot protect her citizens?
